POSITION – Accounting Assistant

JOB LOCATION – Port Washington, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediate

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp to hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 1st Shift, Monday–Friday

STARTING PAY – $22 to $26 per hour

BENEFITS – Medical, Vision, Dental, 401(K), Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, Referral Bonus

REQUIRED EDUCATION – High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in Accounting preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience required; QuickBooks experience required

As an Accounting Assistant, you will support daily accounting operations with a strong focus on Accounts Payable . The majority of this position involves processing vendor invoices, matching purchase orders, posting payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify invoices for Accounts Payable
• Match purchase orders with invoices and ensure accuracy
• Post vendor payments and reconcile accounts regularly
• Assist with Accounts Receivable functions as needed
• Clean up and organize accounting files for improved efficiency
• Support month-end reporting and general ledger entries
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status or inquiries

Qualifications

• QuickBooks experience required
• Prior experience in Accounts Payable
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general accounting software
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
