Salary: $73,211.00- $129,247.00

SUMMARY

We’re hiring a Meat Merchandising professional to join our dynamic Merchandising team! This opportunity is open to candidates at both the Associate level and those ready to step into a Category Business Manager role. Whether you're building on strong foundational experience or bringing seasoned expertise in meat merchandising, this role offers the opportunity to develop and manage impactful procurement and merchandising strategies across our retail footprint.

You’ll be responsible for achieving category goals related to sales, gross profit, inventory turns, and service levels, while working closely with internal stakeholders and vendor partners to elevate our fresh meat offerings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute business and merchandising plans for the Meat category to meet or exceed financial targets.
• Manage warehouse and store inventory levels to optimize product availability, freshness, and inventory turns.
• Oversee new item selection and setup, including PLU creation and ensuring proper nutritional, ingredient, and allergen labeling.
• Collaborate with store operations and advertising to execute promotions and seasonal campaigns.
• Partner with vendors to negotiate programs and secure advantageous pricing, terms, and marketing support.
• Analyze category performance and promotion outcomes on a weekly basis, making data-informed adjustments.
• Develop plan-o-grams to support merchandising strategies and enhance in-store execution.
• Support private label development and innovation within the Meat category.
• Stay current on meat industry trends, compliance standards, and consumer behavior through trade shows and industry events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work cross-functionally and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment.
• Prior experience with meat merchandising, sourcing, or retail operations.
• Satisfactory performance reviews.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Candidates will be considered with:
  
  • 1+ year experience in a Associate-level role with demonstrated potential to grow or
  • 3 years experience in a more senior category management or merchandising role, ideally in fresh departments.
