*This Budtender position is for our Dorchester location!*

Position Overview:

The Budtender is a brand ambassador and customer service representative for the Pure Oasis brand in the front of the house at retail locations. The Budtender is responsible for exemplary Customer Service, following all related SOPs, and always providing customers with a smooth experience in purchasing the adult-use cannabis products that we offer. The Budtender needs to be friendly and welcoming to all of our customers, and possess the ability to work efficiently and accurately when handling transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for understanding and following all state, local, and Cannabis Control Commission rules and regulations
• Responsible for understanding and following all Pure Oasis policies and procedures
• Checking customers' identification documents to verify that they are of legal age
• Greet customers warmly upon entrance and make them feel welcome
• Advising customers on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis.
• Answer the customer’s questions and educating them in regards to products and cannabis-related merchandise
• Responsible for providing excellent customer service and upselling to maximize transaction size
• Responsible for being detailed and accurate in all job functions, especially those related to financial transactions or inventory tracking
• Educating Customers about their cannabis choices honestly, competently, and intelligibly and within the parameters of the MA CCC guidelines (no medical advice)
• Instruct customers on dosages and ratios, potential and expected effects as well as side effects of cannabis products
• Share and collaborate with other budtenders and staff about experiences with products
• Sticker and Stock the retail floor when needed inventory and reporting any mislabeled product or scanning issues
• Responsible for open and closing cash register drawers
• Responsible for performing accurate morning audits as assigned
• Processing customers' payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system for cash and debit transactions
• Taking inventory of cannabis products and ensuring that the sales floor is adequately stocked
• Keeping their workspace clean and organized at all times
• Keeping the retail space clean and organized at all times
• Responsible for additional cleaning tasks as assigned
• Maintains a professional and focused environment by keeping personal cell phones, AirPods, and headphones off the sales floor at all times.
• Must be willing to perform jobs in other areas of the business as assigned by Leader on Duty
• Supports store leadership by executing daily operations, maintaining compliance, and fostering a positive customer experience.

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• De-escalation and conflict resolution skills
• Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash register operations
• Multilingual or bilingual skills are a plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a retail-style environment with frequent movement and handling of products.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work nights and weekends
