BAE Systems, Inc. Is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to lead our Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance solutions team of engineering efforts that delivers C4I projects and programs to enable our defense (DoD) and intelligence community (IC) tactical warfighters, operators, and analysts to utilize networked sensors, vehicles/assets, and platforms to perform a variety of national security driven missions. We are looking for experienced individual who is prepared to lead our team of professionals who provide advanced engineering and scientific expertise for the development, testing, integration, and maintenance of C4I systems and employ state of the art technologies to build and deploy end-user centric products that support C4I missions (software and systems).
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the oversight and overall delivery of C4I solutions developed for multiple customer program offices. As the lead engineer the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the overall work effort and products of the engineering and scientific staff over the full lifecycle of programs and projects for engineering, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment. This includes performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, architecture design, agile development, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Engineering management experience on related DoD and/or other US government programs.
+ BS degree Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
+ 10 years demonstrated experience in design, integration, and test of large C4I systems.
+ 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary team of engineers in executing C4I systems projects and programs.
+ Strong interpersonal skills including active listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
+ High degree of attention to detail and organization skills
+ Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while maintaining cooperative relationships with peers within the company.
+ Lead the design, development, and engineering of C4I systems and subsystems.
+ Conduct system architecture design, component selection, and integration planning to meet C4I requirements.
+ Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams involved in C4I program activities.
+ Mentor junior engineers and scientists to enhance their skills and capabilities in C4I system development.
+ Oversee the design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of C4I systems to ensure functionality, interoperability, and compliance with specifications.
+ Conduct performance testing and analysis to validate system performance and identify areas for improvement for the various C4I Programs of Record (POR).
+ Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and engineering reports.
+ Provide regular progress reports and presentations to C4I program management and stakeholders.
+ Identify technical risks and vulnerabilities associated with C4I systems.
+ Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure system reliability, security, and resilience.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program managers, technicians, and stakeholders, to achieve C4I program objectives.
+ Communicate technical concepts and findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders and decision-makers.
+ Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to C4I systems and future solution technologies.
+ Drive innovation and propose enhancements to optimize C4I system performance and capability.
+ Lead a team of engineering and scientific professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
+ Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment within the C4I Solutions Team Engineering and Scientific team.
+ Management of engineering related technical, schedule, budget, and personnel requirements for solutions developed for various customer organizations.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Active TS/SCI Clearance
+ Experience leading Agile Development projects
+ Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering
+ MS degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
+ Professional Engineer License.
+ 15 years demonstrated experience in design, integration, and test of large C4I systems.
+ 10 years of experience leading multidisciplinary team of engineers in executing C4I systems projects and programs.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
