Engagement Type: Short-Term Project / Contract

Project Duration: Approximately 3 months

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Real Estate Attorney for a short-term project expected to last approximately 3 months. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in handling a wide range of complex commercial real estate transactions and be able to quickly integrate into our team to provide critical legal support on specific, time-sensitive projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of commercial real estate law, exceptional negotiation and drafting skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality legal work efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of complex commercial real estate documents pertinent to the project, which may include:

    • Purchase and sale agreements
    • Lease agreements (office, retail, industrial, ground leases)
    • Financing and loan documents
    • Development agreements
    • Easements, covenants, and other land use-related agreements
  • Conduct focused due diligence for specific commercial real estate transactions, including title and survey review, zoning and land use analysis, and environmental assessments as required by the project scope.
  • Advise [clients/internal stakeholders] on legal aspects of ongoing commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development, leasing, or financing related to the project.
  • Manage key phases of assigned commercial real estate transactions from inception through closing, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and project deadlines.
  • Identify and mitigate potential legal risks associated with the specific commercial real estate projects.
  • Provide counsel on zoning regulations, land use planning, entitlements, and permitting processes relevant to the project.
  • Collaborate effectively with [clients, internal business units, opposing counsel, brokers, title companies, and other external parties] to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure all project-related legal documentation is meticulously organized and maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the [State] Bar and in good standing.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage and close complex commercial real estate deals.
  • Strong understanding of real property law, contract law, and relevant state and local regulations.
  • Availability to commit to a project-based role for approximately 3 months.
