Job Description

We’re hiring a part-time Dog Trainer with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position as our business continues to expand. This role is 2–4 days per week, with 10-hour training days. Applicants must have experience in balanced dog training methods , including on-leash and off-leash obedience, behavior modification for issues such as reactivity, separation anxiety, and resource guarding, and confidence working with a variety of dogs independently. Proficiency with training tools like prong collars and e-collars is essential. Strong communication and people skills are a must, as you’ll be teaching owners just as much as their dogs. Reliable transportation is required, and availability to work Sundays—at least temporarily—may be needed. Pay: Starting at $20-35/hr

Schedule: Part Time to start with growth into Full Time. Potential for 4/10s.

Position Status: At Will Employee

Responsibilities:

  1. Under the head trainer, you will be mentored in all things dog training
  2. Training dogs and clients ensuring consistency and adherence to our balanced training methods
  3. Training dogs for pet dog obedience including: commands, stopping unwanted behaviors, and molding for the everhwere dog and off leash reliability
  4. Instruct clients in private sessions and troublshoot unique issues or goals they may have
  5. Attend and/or lead monthly group classes and pack walks
  6. Communicate heavily with clients and assign homework
  7. Transport dogs to public areas for training sessions
  8. Manage and care for dogs
  9. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary area where dogs reside and spend time, including regular cleaning and disinfection
  10. Provide proper feeding, watering, basic grooming as needed
  11. Monitor dogs' behavior and report any unusual or concerning observations to the trainers and team
  12. Engage in playtime and exercise activities to ensure the dogs remain physically and mentally stimulated on and off property
  13. Administer medication and follow any special care instructions for dogs with medical needs.
  14. Support with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, logging, and client communication.
  15. Record videos for social media and client training as needed

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Passion for working with dogs and a deep commitment to their well-being.

2. Previous dog training experience is required - understanding training methods and dog behavior. Minimum of 1 year is ideal.

3. Open minded to mehtods, tools, and program styles.

4. Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and breeds with patience and confidence.

5. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

6. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and walking dogs.

7. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

8. Communicates well with customers with the ability to educate and instruct them.

9. Passionate to help people with empathy.

10. Reliable transportation.

11. Ability to work long hours, some weekends, and some holidays. We close for trianing on major holidays.
