Job Description and Duties

Under the direct supervision of the Training and Resources Manager, a Staff Services Manager I, the EEO Training Coordinator will assist in developing and carrying out the department's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in all aspects of its work. The objective of the internal EEO Program is to promote and enforce equal employment opportunity for all applicants, employees, and individuals with whom department staff interacts to ensure a work environment free of discrimination. The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of the department's EEO Director's Policy and Deputy Directives and Equity Statement, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Fair Employment and Housing Act, Government Code, Code of Federal Regulations, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion principles. Travel may be required.

Working Conditions

This is a Limited Term position which may be extended to 24 months or become permanent. 

Position located at 1820 Alhambra Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95816

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Special Requirements

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS: A completed State Application form (STD 678) and written Statement of Qualifications (SQQ) are required for an applicant to be considered for an interview. The SQQ must be in narrative form (no bulleted content and not a resume) and tailored to the specific position rather than a general summary of your good qualities. The SQQ should be no longer than two pages, single spaced, and written in 12-point Arial font. The numbered responses must include the SQQ questions and should address the following:

1. Describe your experience and how it relates to the duty statement.

2. Describe your experience and your process in updating existing Learning Management System (LMS) course content while maintaining  version control and minimizing disruption to learners.

3. Provide an example of a course or module you developed using one of the following authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, I Spring Suite,  Adobe Captivate, Elucidat).
