Electrical Engineer | Ogden, Utah

Nexeo HR is hiring Electrical Engineers to join a cutting-edge engineering team supporting the U.S. Air Force’s Sentinel (formerly GBSD) program in Ogden, Utah. This opportunity allows you to contribute to one of the nation’s most critical defense modernization projects — ensuring the reliability and safety of mission-critical infrastructure.

As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll design, analyze, and integrate complex electrical systems that power advanced defense facilities. You’ll collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver technical excellence and innovation at every stage of the project. This position is 100% onsite and offers a 9x80 schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems supporting the U.S. Air Force Sentinel program

• Prepare detailed design drawings including one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and panel schedules

• Perform power system analyses including load flow, short circuit, and cable thermal rating calculations using ETAP

• Conduct lighting calculations and layouts using AGI 32

• Specify and size equipment such as transformers, UPS systems, surge protectors, and batteries

• Develop and maintain specifications in SpecsIntact following CSI MasterFormat standards

• Utilize SETROUTE for cable routing and management

• Integrate vendor and supplier data into electrical design packages

• Prepare technical documentation and evaluate supplier proposals

• Mentor junior engineers and review design deliverables for accuracy and compliance

• Ensure designs comply with NFPA 70 (NEC), ANSI/IEEE, NEMA, and other applicable standards

• Collaborate with systems engineers, project managers, and clients to meet project objectives

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required (for federal access and security clearance eligibility)

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution

• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering (industrial or defense projects preferred)

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and ETAP

• Knowledge of NFPA 70, ANSI/IEEE, and NEMA electrical standards

• Experience developing electrical design packages including cable block diagrams, grounding, and lightning protection

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

• Must pass a background check and drug screening (including marijuana)

• Must possess a Real ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance

• Experience with SETROUTE, SpecsIntact, and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS)

• Prior experience supporting DoD or USAF projects

• Knowledge of Bechtel engineering standards and ISO-9000 quality systems

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Electrical Engineering

• Experience with SmartPlant 3D, cathodic protection design, or power systems modeling for relay coordination and Arc Flash studies

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred

Pay

$115,000 – $145,000 per year

Full-time | 100% Onsite | 9x80 Work Schedule (Every Other Friday Off)
