Job Title: Epic OpTime / Anesthesia Application Analyst – Go-Live Support (Remote, 3-Month Contract)

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)

Engagement Type: 3-Month Contract, Full-Time Hours

Schedule: Core business hours + Go-Live On-Call Rotation

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Epic OpTime / Anesthesia Application Analyst to support a large health system during a major Epic go-live . This is a 3-month remote contract focused on break/fix support , workflow stabilization, and coordination with perioperative and anesthesia teams across surgical services.

The analyst will work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment , supporting operating room workflows, anesthesia documentation, and surgical scheduling. Participation in an on-call rotation is required during the go-live period to ensure continuous OR coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day break/fix support for Epic OpTime and Anesthesia modules during and after go-live.
  • Triage, investigate, and resolve procedure-related and anesthesia workflow tickets , including:
    • Surgical case scheduling, case tracking, and preference cards
    • Operating room setup, case documentation, intra-op workflows, and anesthesia records
    • Anesthesia medication workflows and integration with MAR and pharmacy systems
    • OR inventory, supply charge capture, and implant/consumable management
  • Work within the organization’s ITSM/ticketing platform to manage, document, and prioritize tickets.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, perioperative nurses, surgical techs, and OR schedulers to reproduce issues and validate solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement lasting fixes to reduce recurring issues and operational interruptions.
  • Maintain and optimize OpTime/Anesthesia build, including:
    • Procedure records, CPT mappings, and surgical preference cards
    • Anesthesia documentation templates, events, medications, and record workflows
    • OR scheduling configurations, room mapping, blocks, and timeout workflows
  • Work cross-functionally with ClinDoc, Orders, Pharmacy, Radiant, Willow, Revenue Cycle (HB/PB), Device Integration, and Interface teams for fully integrated perioperative workflows.
  • Participate in on-call rotations (evenings, nights, and weekends as required) during go-live stabilization.
  • Ensure all changes follow established change control, testing, and deployment governance .
  • Contribute to knowledge bases, known issues lists, and quick reference guides for OR support teams.

Contract Details

  • Duration: Approximately 3 months (extension possible based on stabilization).
  • Start Date: ASAP , immediate onboarding required.
  • Location: 100% remote; extended hours may be required during go-live coverage.
  • Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week) with additional hours possible during peak go-live/on-call periods.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Epic OpTime and/or Anesthesia certification/accreditation or verified hands-on support experience.

2+ years of experience supporting perioperative workflows in Epic.

At least one recent Epic go-live or major upgrade supporting surgical services.

Strong understanding of perioperative workflows, including:

Case scheduling, case documentation, and intraoperative clinical workflow

Anesthesia documentation and medication workflows

Implant and supply documentation and charge capture

Experience working with ITSM/ticketing systems in a production support environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to clinical and patient safety impacts.

Excellent communication skills, especially across multi-disciplinary clinical teams.

Ability and willingness to work flexible scheduling and participate in on-call during the go-live period.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting multi-OR, multi-hospital surgical services environments.

Familiarity with automated anesthesia recording systems, device integration, and biomedical interfaces.

Knowledge of revenue cycle impacts for perioperative workflows (implant tracking, procedural billing).

Experience developing quick training guides, workflow references, and OR support materials.
