About the RoleAs a Fiber Splicer at TBTC, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of our cutting-edge fiber optic network. Your work will directly enable high-speed internet access for homes and businesses across the Tularosa basin, transforming local connectivity and economic opportunity. We operate based on high standards set by industry best practices (similar to those recommended by the NTCA - The Rural Broadband Association). Key Responsibilities:

• Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic cables in various environments (aerial, underground, and inside customer premises).
• Install and terminate fiber optic cables, panels, and enclosures.
• Test and troubleshoot network issues using specialized equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and design specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of splicing activity and network changes.
• Adhere strictly to safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in fiber splicing or telecommunications is preferred.
• No experience? No problem! We provide comprehensive, hands-on training for motivated candidates eager to learn a highly valuable trade.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions, as well as confined spaces.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
