Job Description

RMC is hiring a Junior Financial Analyst to support our customer in Indian Head, MD. The candidate will perform a range of financial management activities in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Management Regulations (FMR), with a focus on maintaining financial data integrity, supporting audits, and analyzing financial workflow and policy compliance. This role utilizes enterprise financial systems and requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

The selected applicant will:

  • Provide support to a financial team adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Management Regulations (FMR).
  • Utilize financial management reports and systems such as Navy ERP, Enterprise Digital Capabilities (EDC), and other financial data platforms.
  • Use financial data to research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Perform financial management assignments and follow established procedures.
  • Maintain financial workflow by tracking actions, identifying/reporting status, and determining required action.
  • Prepare documentation and sustain internal procedures for audit readiness.
  • Perform administrative functions in support of financial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience, an associate's degree and four (4) years of experience, or high school diploma/GED and six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply financial management principles, analytical techniques, and systematic processes to collect, analyze, and interpret financial information that supports program and project decision-making for managers and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills relating to financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in use of standard office software applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Adobe, etc.).
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Efficient in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ( GAAP ) and Financial Management Regulations ( FMR ).
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience in Navy enterprise Resource Planning (ERP0, Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), ADVANA and/or Jupiter systems.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $50,000 to $60,000 (annually).
