Job Description

SUMMARY

Fresh Start Contracting is seeking a skilled, motivated Carpenter to join our team. This hands-on role is responsible for completing work from framing to finish, ensuring a high standard of craftsmanship and jobsite safety. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of leading daily tasks on site while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. ESSENTIAL JOB Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
  • Measure, cute, and assemble materials accurately for framing, finish work, and other carpentry tasks
  • Safely excavate and prepare footings up to 4’ deep
  • Track project time, material purchases, and tasks completed
  • Order and receive materials; ensure proper organization onsite
  • Collaborate with Site Supervisor to maintain project timelines
  • Ensure quality control and safety compliance throughout the project
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to Carpenter’s Assistants/Laborer’s while providing guidance
  • Occasional transport of materials and debris as needed
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, hazard free jobsite
  • Operate handtools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment safely
  • Accurately record hours and submit in a timely fashion
  • Support client needs as directed by Site Supervisor
  • Report on issues or concerns to Site Supervisor
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Pay Rate

  • $28-$38 per Hour
  • Sign on Bonus- $2,500

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • High school diploma of GED REQUIRED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation able to transport tools
  • Min. 4 years of residential carpentry experience preferred
  • Must supply personal basic and power tools
  • Must possess strong knowledge of lumber, fasteners, and general construction materials/tools
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Strong math skills and comfort with measurements and calculations
  • Familiarity with jobsite safety and OSHA standards
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Adhere to FSC’s Code of Conduct

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Supervises and provides work directions to carpenter’s assistants and subcontractors on job site.  Must be comfortable overseeing a job site as a representative of the general contractor.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires lifting heavy objects, walking, and standing for extended periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.  The work will be performed on and off the jobsite which requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, push, pull, reach, carry, lift, grasp, squat or stoop, bend, and twist the body while performing essential duties.  The position requires using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk or hear.  The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.  The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.  The employee must have excellent stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods of time.  The work will be performed indoors and outdoors in all seasons, including harsh weather conditions.
