Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for processing SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, and microbial cultures. You will also produce antigens and reagents, prepare buffers, media, and solutions, and complete internal documentation. This role involves performing housekeeping activities, including waste disposal and glassware preparation. Essential Skills + Proficiency in laboratory procedures and cleanroom environment. + Experience with PPE and aseptic techniques. + Knowledge of sterile technique, fume hood operations, biology, microbiology, aseptic technique, cleanroom procedures, pipetting, and autoclave. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelors of Science Degree OR + 1-2 years of related experience and/or training. + An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed. Work Environment The work environment includes an 8-hour shift starting as early as 5, 6 or 7:30 am in a manufacturing setting. Employees are regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and use a microscope. Frequent walking and sitting are involved. Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. The environment can get hot at times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windham, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
