The Opportunity This position is intentionally built for advancement. You’ll begin as a Senior Family Law Attorney — and if you demonstrate excellence, strong leadership, and alignment with our culture and core values, you’ll advance to the Managing Attorney role, leading our legal team and shaping the future of Hecht Family Law .
Responsibilities:
In the Managing Family Law Attorney Role You’ll oversee complex divorce and custody matters, lead your team of attorneys and paralegals, and collaborate directly with the Managing Partner on firm operations and growth. This is a true leadership-track role for an attorney who wants to build, lead, and leave a legacy in family law.
What You’ll Do • Handle and oversee complex family law cases from intake through resolution.
• Lead case strategy meetings and “hot case” reviews for optimal results.
• Mentor and support the other attorneys on your team.
• Partner with firm leadership to drive team growth, performance, and excellence.
• Represent clients in mediations, hearings, and trials with professionalism and integrity.
• Uphold the firm’s culture, core values, and Excellence Operating Procedures (EOP) daily.
Qualifications:
What You Bring • JD and active Georgia Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of current, active family law experience (divorce, custody, support, modifications, contempt).
• Proven track record of courtroom success and strong client relationships.
• Leadership instincts, organizational strength, and excellent communication.
• High professional integrity, emotional intelligence, and a team-oriented mindset.

Attorney Ed Hecht brings an understanding of what it’s like to be in his clients’ shoes because he’s also been through a divorce with children, pays child support, and has dealt with alimony and child custody. As a loving, devoted father to two children, he understands the sensitivities involved in helping people who need to be able to co-parent for years after their marriage ends.
