The Medical Scribe provides professional and courteous support to patients and clinicians during clinic visits. This role focuses on real-time documentation, patient escorting, and administrative support to help improve the quality and efficiency of patient care.
Key ResponsibilitiesEscort patients throughout their clinic visit and guide them to exam rooms
Follow assigned clinician and accurately document Subjective and Objective portions of SOAP notes in the electronic health record (EHR)
Document patient history in accordance with clinic procedures
Assist providers with additional support tasks as directed
Prepare and distribute patient education materials as needed
Provide telephone data collection under the direction of an RN or provider
Maintain compliance with all laws, regulations, policies, and clinic standards
Support clinic staff and clinicians to enhance patient quality of care
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Typing speed of 75 WPM or higher (typing test required with resume submission)
Strong knowledge of medical terminology
Advanced computer skills and experience with specialized software
High accuracy in data entry
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Effective problem-solving and written communication skills
Oncology experience
Prior medical scribe or clinical documentation experience
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Post-secondary education (pre-med or medical school track preferred)
None required
This is an onsite role
