The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Medical Center, located in Moreno Valley, is currently recruiting
new graduate and
new to specialty Registered Nurses (RN) for the
Adult Critical Care Unit (ACCU). Riverside University Medical Center - Adult Critical Care Unit is composed of two physical units; a 24-Medical Intensive Care and a 12 bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit dedicated to the trauma, medical, and surgical needs of the critically ill adult and elderly patients. A multi-disciplinary team approach is utilized to provide optimal care for our diverse population.
The new graduate nurse cohort is designed to incorporate critical judgement, professional conduct, and weekly didactics to integrate the necessary skills and critical thinking required to become an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse. The program is 16-weeks with focus on the new graduate RN mastering critical skills. Upon graduation, the new graduate RN will be able to function at a competent level within our Adult Critical Care department.
Position Requirements for the Adult ICU Upon Hire:
- Valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State of CA (it is not necessary to be licensed prior to interviewing for the position, however, you must have a valid license prior to official onboarding).
- BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association, and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Work Schedule: The schedule for this position is night shift, 7:00pm - 7:00am, 3/12s.

• Assist physicians in administering treatments and in performing medical examinations, diagnostic test and surgical operations.
• Administer or dispense prescribed treatment and medications to patients as directed; chart treatment and dispensing to patients; record and report significant changes in condition and general progress of patients.
• Counsel and advise patients, families and significant others regarding special medical problems and/or proper healthcare methods; prepare and maintain concise and complete records and reports.
• Instruct patients in carrying out physician's orders; transcribe physician's orders to working records.
• Participate in quality assurance reviews; act as a team leader.
Registered Nurse I - MC/CHC: $40.8373- $57.1896 Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. (A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or a health-related field may be required for some positions.)
Experience: None required.
Knowledge of: The theory, techniques and practices of professional nursing; common medical terminology; hospital and/or healthcare procedures and equipment; the purposes and effects of medicine and narcotics.
Ability to: Skillfully perform the full range of nursing duties and responsibilities; follow oral and written procedures; maintain concise and complete records and reports; plan and organize nursing plans; establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, patients, and co-workers.
Registered Nurse II - MC/CHC: $43.9933 - $68.0905 Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. (A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or a health-related field may be required for some positions.)
Experience: Equivalent to one year of full-time experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital, clinic outpatient setting, or healthcare agency program. Experience gained as an Interim Permit Nurse may be credited toward meeting the required experience. Evaluations and references must show proficiency of practice as a Registered Nurse.
Knowledge of: Current principles, techniques and procedures used in professional nursing; medical terminology and patient care routine appropriate to clinical setting; medical instruments and equipment; the uses and effects of medicines and narcotics; community resources available to provide patient care and follow-up; federal, state and local laws and regulations governing professional aspects of nursing; identification of potential discharge needs; payor source documentation requirements and governmental regulations affecting reimbursement.
Ability to: Perform the full range of nursing duties and responsibilities in a patient care setting; plan and organize nursing plans for patients; prepare and maintain concise and complete records and reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, patients, and fellow employees; assist in the instruction of entry-level nurses and ancillary personnel; evaluate the medical records of hospital admissions; make recommendations regarding continued stay necessity; identify discharge needs.
Registered Nurse III - MC/CHC III: $51.1284 - $77.1585 Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. (A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or a health-related field may be required for some positions.)
Experience: Equivalent to three years of full time experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility or community health agency with references and evaluations to show appropriate skill level. (A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or a national certification in a nursing specialty may be substituted for one year of the required experience. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing may be substituted for two years of the required experience.)
Knowledge of: Current principles, techniques and procedures used in professional nursing; medical terminology and patient care routine appropriate to clinical setting; medical instruments and equipment; the uses and effects of medicines and narcotics; community resources available to provide patient care and follow-up; federal, state and local laws and regulations governing professional aspects of nursing; identification of potential discharge needs; payor source documentation requirements and governmental regulations affecting reimbursement.
