Join Our Team as Prep Cook – Support a Fast-Paced, Quality-Driven Kitchen

About the Position

Prep cooks are responsible for ensuring that ingredients are cleaned, chopped, portioned, and ready for service. This role is critical to the overall efficiency of the kitchen and supports both the line cooks and kitchen leadership team. Prep cooks help maintain food quality and safety standards, follow recipes precisely, and stay organized throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow prep lists and recipes to prepare ingredients for daily service.
  • Properly label, date, and store all prepped items using FIFO practices.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized prep station and storage areas.
  • Assist in receiving deliveries and organizing dry storage and walk-ins.
  • Communicate with kitchen team about low stock, prep needs, and task status.
  • Uphold safety and sanitation standards according to ServSafe and restaurant protocols.
  • Complete assigned tasks with efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail.

We’re looking for a focused, hard-working individual with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to manage repetitive tasks with consistency. This is a great entry point for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a quality-focused kitchen.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 1 year of prep experience in a professional kitchen preferred
  • Strong knife skills and familiarity with basic cooking/prep techniques
  • Ability to follow directions and execute tasks independently
  • California Food Handler’s Card required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Availability for early morning and weekend shifts
