We’re seeking a proactive Senior People Operations Specialist to join our People Team in NYC. Reporting to the Senior Manager, People Operations, you'll support essential People functions - from HR administration and payroll to office management, event coordination, and strategic HR projects. Please note, this opportunity will be based on-site at our NYC office location in Flatiron.
Responsibilities
Being in the office! Due to the nature of the role, this person will be stationed in our NYC headquarters in Flatiron 5 days/week.
HR administration & onboarding: Assist with personnel file management, reimbursements / stipend tracking, background checks, employment verifications, mailed compliance notices, etc. Support all onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation, new hire swag and brand asset management, and HRIS updates.
Office operations & events: You will ensure a clean, organized, fully functional office, which includes managing supplies, scheduling maintenance, stocking snacks, fielding mail and packages, coordinating visitor check-in, and ad hoc requests. You will also plan and execute in-person and remote team-building activities, company celebrations, and staff meetings.
Payroll processing: Process payroll accurately and on-time, including timesheets, pay, benefits deductions, bonuses, and reimbursements.
Recruitment support: Draft and post
HR projects: Participate in ad hoc HR projects such as employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, and process improvement efforts.
Confidentiality & compliance: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive employee and candidate information.
What We’re Looking For
You’re an experienced People Operations professional, having spent 2+ years supporting internal teams’ day-to-day People Operations, with a strong background in onboarding, payroll, benefits, recruiting, and HR administration.
You have experience with office administration and vendor management, and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
You’re comfortable navigating high-volume coordination with data integrity and attention to detail.
You love the creative challenge of maintaining strong culture and engagement in the context of remote work.
You build relationships and foster trust quickly and easily, and team members are comfortable coming to you with a variety of questions, concerns, and suggestions.
You’re an incredibly thoughtful and empathetic written/verbal communicator who can comfortably interface with folks at all levels of the organization.
You operate with immense discretion and care when faced with complex employee matters.
You are able to prioritize autonomously, and you’re eager to ask for help when you need it.
Proficiency in using HR software (or the desire to learn), applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Google Suite.
Familiarity with employment laws and regulations is a plus

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $85,000-$100,000. Actual compensation and title will be commensurate with experience,
