Job Description

McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. Here, we focus on the health, happiness, and well-being of you and those we serve – we care.

What you do at McKesson matters. We foster a culture where you can grow, make an impact, and are empowered to bring new ideas. Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.

At McKesson, we deliver better health by powering smarter, safer, and more efficient care. As the Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement, you’ll serve as a strategic partner to distribution center leadership, driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance, compliance, and employee experience across the facility.

This role leads internal quality audits, standardizes operating procedures, and champions process consistency aligned with best practices. You’ll oversee onboarding and training programs, lead a team of trainers, and ensure the facility is always audit-ready — supporting our mission to advance health outcomes for all.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with DC leadership to plan, lead, and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives across all functional areas.
  • Lead internal quality audits and drive enhancements to SOPs, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and McKesson’s operational goals.
  • Oversee onboarding and training programs for new hires and implement ongoing development initiatives for existing team members.
  • Manage and mentor facility trainers, ensuring consistent delivery of training and continuous improvement content.
  • Maintain compliance with all state licensing requirements and ensure audit readiness for FDA, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Analyze reports, records, and operational data to identify trends, resolve issues, and support planning activities.
  • Support receiving, storing, and shipping operations to ensure timely, accurate, and secure movement of goods.
  • Evaluate and improve inventory control procedures to maintain accountability and optimize performance.
  • Lead investigations into customer concerns, identify root causes, and communicate corrective/preventative actions through OpEx and CAP reports.
  • Present technical information related to operational projects (e.g., temperature monitoring, CIP documentation, OpEx rollouts).
  • Monitor costs, prepare budgets, and identify opportunities for cost savings and margin improvement.
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.

Management Scope & Impact

  • Decisions directly impact departmental goals and timelines; errors may affect patient well-being in Infusion/Medical businesses.
  • Leads independently with general guidance; interacts daily with direct reports and peer groups.
  • Communicates departmental goals and supports resolution of customer relations issues and key negotiations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9+ years of operational or professional experience, including 1+ year in a supervisory or management role
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Deep understanding of distribution center operations and interdependencies
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Black Belt preferred)
  • Familiarity with FDA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy compliance requirements
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on positive change
  • Willingness to work flexible hours in a 24/7 warehouse environment

Additional Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a strategic mindset
  • Ability to investigate root causes and implement safeguards
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams through change and improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, supply chain, or distribution environments
  • Familiarity with automation and workflow systems (e.g., JD Edwards, QC Software)
  • Background in business analytics and change implementation
  • Project management experience
