HOW A TECHNICAL EDITOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Writing & Editing Support
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and conforms to client-specific style, tone, and document layout standards.
  • Reviews and edits material for punctuation, grammar, and content.
  • Identifies and modifies contextual errors, reorganizes content, and edits graphics, tables, and illustrations.
  • Create standardized stylesheets and templates with uniform fonts, tables, figures/graphics to establish common programmatic deliverables.
  • Writes and updates material such as reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance.
Process Documentation & Improvement
  • Develop process, procedure, and work instruction documentation for projects while collaborating with project leads and management.
  • Develops the process for crafting and refining ideas, cultivating sources, and developing highly articulate deliverables.
  • Review existing processes and offer recommendations for process improvements, streamlined workflows, and simplified procedures.
  • Capture requirements for workflow automation and/or software development.
Deliverable Management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of products or services and documentation requirements.
  • Clearly define documentation project scope and monitor project schedule until completion and approval.
  • Create custom frameworks that define how business processes are designed, executed, monitored, and improved.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in English, Business Administration, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
  • Required Technical Skills: MS Suite, MS Visio
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Extremely proficient writing and critical thinking skills, experience writing a variety of deliverable types for multiple audiences, experience with managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload, minimal managerial oversight required, provide training and guidance to lesser experienced team members, demonstrate leadership and ownership of projects/tasks, excellent communication and customer interface experience.
  • Preferred Skills: ITIL v4 Foundations, experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, 508 Compliance, Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), experience with XML Editor, Visio, SharePoint, ServiceNow, and Confluence
  • Location: On-site in Washington, DC
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Security Clearance Level: Secret required.

The likely salary range for this position is $80,750 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
