Work Days: 8 hr shifts on Sat and Sun

The new Center for Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Somerville will provide a transformative continuum of patient and family-centered care for diverse youth with mental health needs.

Job Summary

The Unit Secretary performs a wide variety of administrative/clerical and non-patient care duties. Maintains the medical record and department whiteboard, answers the telephone, schedules appointments and displays professional behavior and attitude to all customer groups. Strong attention to contributing to patients' excellence of care.

Qualifications/Experience:

High school diploma or GED required.

Must have excellent customer service, PC skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations. Must be highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

Previous medical unit secretary experience preferred. Inpatient experience is strongly preferred. Must be comfortable working in a secured inpatient psychiatric unit.
