Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Woodstock, Georgia is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
This hands-on leadership role is responsible for the overall maintenance and care of the golf course and related grounds. The position will oversee a staff of up to 20 employees, including the Assistant Superintendent and Equipment Mechanic, and will report directly to the General Manager. This position also collaborates with regional agronomic and operational support staff to ensure alignment with broader company goals and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct and manage daily maintenance operations across 27 holes, practice facilities, landscaping, and clubhouse grounds.
• Lead, train, schedule, and supervise agronomy team, including Assistant Superintendent and Equipment Mechanic.
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and inventory of all golf course equipment.
• Plan and implement all agronomic programs, including fertilizer and chemical applications.
• Manage turf health and playing conditions, with expertise in Champion Bermuda greens.
• Develop and manage department budget, including labor, materials, and capital needs.
• Maintain accurate records of chemical and fertilizer applications in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Administer payroll and manage staffing levels to control expenses and maintain operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with the General Manager and regional support staff to align agronomic goals with overall club and company operations.
Requirements:
5+ years of golf course maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Degree or certification in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, or related field preferred.
Georgia Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain promptly).
Strong knowledge of turfgrass diseases, irrigation systems, equipment maintenance, and seasonal agronomic practices.
Proven ability to lead a team, manage budgets, and maintain high standards of course conditioning.
Must be dependable, highly organized, and proactive in problem-solving.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation:
$100,000 – $120,000 per year.
